Hi,
Year of love is going to turn 1 years old around the 26th of October - so very soon. I wanted to take this time with you to reflect on how to move forward with the project. At first I had only intended to do it for a year - hence it’s name being year of love and not years of love. But I am very much still in love with the project and want to keep it alive. I love this space to express and experiment with things in a safe intimate place away from the madness of other social media.
I do want to make some changes though, and the first one is that I want to lower the price of the subscription. This is mostly because everywhere I look people are putting prices up and it feels kinder to lower them in the light of that. You can still chose to be a funding member and pay extra and support me and the project that way if you feel like you can afford it, but the standard price I will put at 100 pounds for a year or 10 pounds per month instead of 120 per year or 12 pounds per month.
I also would love feedback. What have you loved the most? What do you want more of? Please comment below or send me an email at info@linascheynius.com Thank you.
At first I was considering scrapping the schedule of sending a more substantial letter every first Tuesday of the month completely as I love to work more in the spur of the moment, but on deeper reflection I think it’s good for me to be a little out of my comfort zone and have a schedule and the rest of the time I can do as I please.
Looking forward to your feedback and I hope you will join me for another year of love.
Thank you so much for being here.
Love Lina
I am thrilled to hear that the project is continuing. Since leaving most social media behind, I have found that Substack (especially yours), has become a place that I actually enjoying spending my time on. Cheers to year two!
Great news about you continuing. It’s like a catch up in a coffee shop between friends 😄😊
Also, I think you’re the only person I’ve seen on any platform that’s openly said you’ve thought about making it a little easier for people who’d like to support your work in the current times.
Personally I didn’t see an issue with the price last year. In a past life I would spend £40-50 (sometimes more) on various guitar and movie magazines per month only for the handful of pages I was interested in. For the Substack subscription I know I’m getting 100% what I want to read x
